Too Tight

I originally ordered a size 8 (my usual shoe size) and could not even get my feet into them so I gave that pair away. I then ordered a size 9 and though I can get my feet in them the shoes are way too tight across the base of my toes. The "toe box" is too tight so I doubt I'll wear them often.
